Monorex GM

A one-coat or top coat finish, through coloured, weather resistant and breathable decorative render available in 48 standard colours.

Description

A one or two coat, breathable, weather resistant and breathable decorating render for masonry and concrete walls. Available in 48 standard colours (special colours to order), the render provides an excellent finish and good surface hardening.

MONOREX GM is suitable for machine spraying or hand application and can be finished in a range of styles from medium scraped, light tyrolean to heavy roughcast textured finishes.
MONOREX GM is suitable for rendering onto a range of masonry substrates;

Ultra-lightweight, lightweight & dense aggregate concrete blocks. The NHBC 2017 Chapter 6.11 Render, advise the following concrete block categorisation.

Please note: Blocks with a close texture, generally classed as paint grade blocks, should not be rendered without an application of the substrate porosity regulator MICRO GOBETIS 3000.

Block category

Compressive strength of the blockwork

Dry density

Ultra-lightweight aggregate

3.6 – 7.3N/mm²

<950kg/m³

Lightweight aggregate

3.6 – 7.3N/mm²

950 - 1500kg/m³+

Dense aggregate

7.5N/mm²

1500kg/m³

Standard low and normal density lightweight blocks. The NHBC 2017 Chapter 6.11 Render, advise the following concrete block categorisation.

These blocks should not be rendered without an application of the substrate porosity regulator MICRO GOBETIS 3000.

Block category

Compressive strength of the blockwork

Dry density

Low density aircrete

2.9 – 3.6N/mm²

<500kg/m³

Normal density aircrete

3.6 – 9.0N/mm²

500kg/m³+

Always take particular note of the block manufacturer’s guidance on suitability.

Clay bricks* or blocks* e.g. Porotherm;
Durisol dry stacked interlocking wall units;
Existing sound renders*
Shuttered concrete walls*

Base coats conforming to BS5262; or in conjunction with grey weather resistant Parex base coats e.g. MONOGRIS E, PARMUREX, TRADIREX for rendering existing rendered walls.

*These substrates should not be rendered without an application of the substrate porosity regulator MICRO GOBETIS 3000.

Subject to location and a Parex specification being issued, a minimum 15mm finished thickness of MONOREX GM can meet the requirements for Sheltered, Moderate and Severe exposure zones and at a minimum of 20mm finished thickness can meet the requirement for Very Severe exposure zones.
